Nine Favorite Things

And just like that, itโ€™s fallโ€”at least back home in the mountains of Colorado it is. Iโ€™m in New York, and itโ€™s not fall here just yet, but when I took off on Thursday, fall had officially set in. The temps were in the 40s, the clouds low and moody, and the leaves on the verge of turning bright shades of yellow, orange, and red.

I know it seems early, but in the mountains, fall begins to settle in the first week of September – and it goes by fast. A sunny September day is the prettiest time to be in Colorado!

Iโ€™ll be home a bit this week and will try to soak it all up before Iโ€™m off again. I’ll be returning to New York for something so fun and exciting! I canโ€™t wait to share it soon, but I think you guys will love it!! As of this week, our busy end of the year is officially kicking off. Itโ€™s scary because the holidays will come upon us so fast, but Iโ€™m happy and excited for them. The business of it all is a mix of overwhelming thoughts and pure motivation and excitement!

Speaking of new launches, this is just a reminder that we only have a few meals left on our Home Chef menu! This year’s recipes are even better than last year’s, with additions like my Queso Beef Chili and Coconut-Lime Fried Shrimp! Plus, a couple of favorites from last year: Dadโ€™s Crispy Chipotle Beef Tacos and our Spicy Roasted Red Pepper Pizza! You can use my link and theย promo code HBH to get 18 Free Meals + Free Shippingย too!

And then, if you havenโ€™t already, you have to order the Pumpkin Smash Candle before it officially sells out. The big 4-wick 50 oz candle is already gone! Pumpkin season is here!

Letโ€™s see what else! Hmm, I was excited to see everyoneโ€™s excitement for our upcoming book tour. We’ll be announcing those dates soon!

And my family updates! Half of my family is in Spain for the remainder of the month! Theyโ€™re loving exploring and really enjoying all the beautiful architecture, food, and culture. So glad they’re able to have this time to travel ahead of our busy fall season! My mom thinks I would love Spain!

Aside from that, all the usual things are happening. I spent most of last week working on upcoming fall recipes – you all, we’ve got some good dishes coming! The fall season is when I do my best work, I love it!

Ok! I think thatโ€™s all for now. Thank you, guys, for reading these Favorite posts and keeping up with our work and life updates! I think itโ€™s these posts that really allow us to connect!

Have a wonderful September Sunday!

1. Things iโ€™m loving, wanting, and excited to try.

lovingโ€ฆZara Home. As always, they have the most underrated home department. They’re my best kept secret for unique, affordable pieces for the home. Ordering this glazed stoneware coffee cup and matching pitcher, their beautiful wood salad bowl, these glass tumblers for upcoming holiday cocktails/mocktails, and the most adorable honey jar. And I can’t wait for their holiday collection to arrive!

wantingโ€ฆcozy cashmere socks. This may seem silly, but cozy socks really make me feel at home, especially while traveling. My favorite pairs are from Guest In Residence. They just launched new colors for fall!

travel…The Best Fall Destinations to Visit This Season. My favorite time of year for East Coast travel. On my list are the Berkshires, Massachusetts, Salem, Woodstock, Vermont, and of course, nothing beats fall in New York.

Everything in my cart (low)โ€ฆ I love theย wool blend cardigan from & Other Stories; it’s so cozy for fall. Also cozy for fall are cinched-in-the-waste blazers. I’m veryย into this cinched blazer from Source Unknown.

Another fall trend – boho. I love this lace top from Free People. Oh, and speaking of Free People, I want their faux suede jacketย too. And theirย faux leather jacket is cute as well! On the cozier side, they have these waffle stitch cardigan and pants, and I personally want this half-zipย pullover.

Lastly, this maxi dress on Revolve is super cute. The burgundy color is very on trend for fall 2024.

listening toโ€ฆDr. Andy Galpin – The Keys To Human Performance, Body Composition, & How To Achieve Optimal Health & Fitness Goals.

dreaming of going to…Hotel Alfonzo XIII in Seville, Spain. Some of my family are currently there. They say the castles and architecture are amazing, the weather is perfect, and the city is beautiful!

lovingโ€ฆGracie Abrams Is Done Whispering. This is such a cute story. I am really loving everything Gracie is.

shoppingโ€ฆUlta’sย 21 days of beauty fall sale. This runs through September 19th. Time for me to stock up on stocking stuffers for the holidays + my favorite beauty products. In my cart, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream and IT Cosmetics CC+ Nude Glow Lightweight Foundation + Glow Serum with SPF 40.

reading…Back to Bendelโ€™sโ€”A New Book Remembers the Glory Days of the Elegant New York Department Store. This would be super cute styled on a coffee table.

watching…Off the Cuff: Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short Talk Favorite Roles, Worst Auditions, and โ€˜Demure Autumn.

everything in my cart (beauty)โ€ฆI want to get more into hair care, I do not do anything! I keep reading about the Milk Hair Serum from Roz.

I’m much better on body care. While I use lotions and creams daily, I need to use body serums more consistently. I use and love the Nรฉcessaire The Body Vitamin C – Radiance Serum With THD Ascorbate. And in the past I’ve used the Tata Harper resurfacing serum and MUTHA body contour serum. All are amazing!

watchingโ€ฆThe New Shows & Movies Our Editors Are Watching in September. What are you watching/looking forward to watching this fall?

wantingโ€ฆEvery Fall Essential You Need to Make This Season the Best One Yet. Pretty excited that the HBH Every Day cookbook is included on this list! I love that everyone seems to associate me with the fall season!

reading…Is Cosmetic Acupuncture a Natural Alternative to Filler? An Esthetician Has Thoughts. As someone who is fearful of any kind of filler or botox treatments, I found this very interesting. I love the idea of using acupuncture to help preserve youthful skin as opposed to having cosmetic surgery.

everything in my cart (high)โ€ฆI love suede for fall, especially this season. I’m thinking of ordering this SPRWMN Suede Trench Coat I found on FWRD. It’s an investment piece, but it’s something that can be worn season after season!

followingโ€ฆStudio Liza Langen. Pretty flowers!

shopping…cute hiking looks.

4. Apple Cider Smash – It’s Here!

Itโ€™s almost here! Introducing our latest candle with Snif, Apple Cider Smash, launching on Friday, 9/13 ๐Ÿ

This is September in a candle to me – itโ€™s crisp and fresh while still being so cozy and warm. We blended the most delicious combination of sparkling cider, honeycrisp apple, and warm cinnamon doughnut. Honestly you guys, this might be our best scent yet. Capturing this campaign at an apple orchard in upstate NY was one of my favorite days. I am so proud of how it has all come together.

In one week, Apple Cider Smash will finally be YOURS! Join the waitlist for early access. I can’t wait for this candle to bring the same nostalgia and joy to your home as it has to mine ๐Ÿ’›

5. Fall Trends – 4 I Love.

Suede for fall is a new obsession of mine. I’m styling it with suede bags, skirts, and jackets. I think it’s so cute. And timeless.

Cozy knits for the home. Loving all the big, cozy throw blankets I’m seeing everywhere.

In the kitchen, everything copper. I just got this tray and thought I might just have to style my Thanksgiving turkey on it and/or use it for a big cheese board for the entertaining season. Either way, I love copper in the kitchen this time of year. It’s just cozier.

September apples!ย Save the pumpkin for October and embrace the September apple season withย apple-scented candles in the home. I’m looking forward to sharing a lot of new apple recipes this month, but I’m currently mixing up my cinnamon apple smashย andย Hocus Pocus old-fashioned cocktails. I’m also baking up my baked apple cider doughnuts. And, a new HBH harvest salad is coming your way very soon. It’s been on repeat in my kitchen lately!

  1. What kind of person goes out of their way to visit a blog, written by someone they clearly don’t like, just to leave nasty comments? I think we all know the answer to that question! (Ignore the haters who have nothing better going on in their lives than to repeatedly dump hatred here). On a positive note… I love the yellow dress and will be making one of the apple recipes today. Thanks for always providing fun content and delicious recipes. XO

    1. Hey Nichole,
Thanks for taking the time to comment today:) Let me know which of the recipes you try, I hope it turns out well for you! Have a great Sunday and thanks for reading! xT

  2. Iโ€™ve really been enjoying a lot of the wellness podcasts you suggest each week! Is there anything specific youโ€™ve learned from these podcasts that have changed or impacted your overall outlook on health and body image? Or any podcasts you listen to weekly for this type of content that youโ€™d suggest? Thanks!

  3. I keep waiting in anticipation of teh cookie collab with you and Blake! Will this be an event with her for the book tour? Fingers crossed!

I think you would love Spain, the food is incredible! Your family seems to always be traveling, it would be so nice to see you taking a break and enjoying that time with them!
I love apple cider doughnuts and can’t wait to get my candle!

    1. Hey Meghan,
Thanks for reading today! It’s just a fun video we made recently, I’m not sure when it will be released just yet:) They are having the best time in Spain, it sounds amazing! I hope you love the candle as much as I do:) Happy Sunday! xT

  4. Happy Sunday,
Thank you for being part of my self care Sunday! I love enjoying my coffee while reading and looking at all of the beautiful content. You make my Sunday! Thank you!

    1. Hi Karen,
Thank you so much for reading each week, I truly appreciate you being here! Hope you are off to a great Sunday! xT

  5. Ranting and raving is part of the process of on line comments. Would like to see new recipes and more appealing recipes without a lot of sauce. Fresh and clean come to mind.

  6. Good morning,
I rarely post comments but I was inspired today by the hateful post on here. I really enjoy reading your posts and looking at all the things you pick on Sunday. Of course your meals also! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s not easy but please continue what you do so well and ignore the haters!

    1. Hi Marian,
Thanks so much for your kind message and taking the time to comment today:) I am so glad you enjoy these posts as much as I do and appreciate you making so many recipes! Have the best Sunday! xT

  7. Love your fall travel list! Iโ€™m headed to the Berkshires this fall. Any restaurant or shopping recommendations? Thanks in advance!

    1. Hey Melissa,
Thanks so much for reading today!! The Berkshires is on my list, I’ve actually never been, I bet you will have an amazing time! Happy Sunday! xT

  8. I think everyone should experience an apple farm in the fall! Love the photo of you in the yellow dress! Lovely! I just switched my kitchen utensil container to a copper one and I agree with you, itโ€™s much cozier! Thanks for all the great content Tieghan!

    1. Thanks so much, Paula! Yes, who doesn’t love a good apple farm?! Glad you enjoyed the content today:) Happy Sunday! xT

  9. When can we expect to see more cookbook promo on Instagram? A lot of my other favorite food bloggers usually cook a recipe or two to help promote the book. Have you event considered doing anything like that? Seeing a recipe in action helps me decide whether or not Iโ€™d like to purchase! Maybe I just missed it amongst all the candle promo though.

  10. Happy Sunday, Tieghan! YES FOR APPLE CIDER SMASH! Congrats and Iโ€™m too excited to get it! (Yep, Iโ€™m signed up for โ€œearly accessโ€!) FYI – I donโ€™t live in a major metro city, so I donโ€™t have immediate access to a lot of โ€œfancy schmancy, high endโ€ candles. I really appreciate how great your line is with Snif. My home has a somewhat open floor plan with high ceilings, and Pumpkin Smash is the only candle that has a strong enough throw for the whole space. I love for my home to smell cozy – mainly of baked good scents whether Iโ€™m baking or not – LOL – so thanks to you and Snif for a great product! I think Iโ€™m going to try Diptyque (based on your rec), but weโ€™ll seeโ€ฆ Have a great week, girl!

    1. Hey Kerita,
Thanks for reading and Happy Sunday! Thank you so much for your support with the candles, I hope you love the apple cider smash! Lol my mom says the exact same thing about the Pumpkin Smash:) Hope you have a great week! xT

  11. You inbthat gorgeous yellow gown is my all- time favorite picture of you. The setting, the gown , your cute expression! Lovely!

  12. There is a such thing as overdoing it on the โ€œcozy.โ€ When you start describing copper pans as cozy itโ€™s time to reel it in a bit lol.

  13. Iโ€™ve been a subscriber for many years and I think this weekโ€™s picture of you in the yellow dress is probably my favorite! Absolutely beautiful; thank you for keeping me informed, entertained and engaged!

    Cindy

    1. Awe, thank you so much, Cindy! That is so kind of you:) Hope you are off to a great Sunday and thanks for reading! xT

  14. Happy Sunday, Tieghan, Gerard fam, and HBH Team! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‚ I am so excited to see what youโ€™ve been cooking up in the Big Apple! The last four months of the year are my absolute favorite. I love the scents, the sights, the energy of the season! Thank you for the links of cozy sweaters, warm throws, and the copper set. Everything looks divine! I hope you have a wonderful week and that the fam is LOVING Spain! Canโ€™t wait to see the big reveal of your NYC project! โค๏ธ

    1. Hey Jen,
